FREE READINESS CHECK

WHAT DO YOUR STUDENTS ACTUALLY EXPERIENCE?

Not what your mission statement says.

Not what you hope.

What an LGBTQIA+ student can see, feel, access, and trust the moment they walk in.

Take the free Brave Spaces Readiness Check and find out where your practice really stands.

What does this look like? Here's what the Check holds up to the light:

  • Belonging — does every student have an adult who'd notice if they disappeared?
  • Advocacy & Affirmation — when harm lands, do you know what you'll say and do?
  • Visibility & Voice — do your walls, your lessons, your language teach who matters?

In about six minutes, you'll see the shape of your practice across all Five Keys — and leave with concrete next moves built for your role. Free, honest, and never graded.

Hey! I'm craig!

I'm a former principal, a Nationally Distinguished Principal, and the author of Creating Brave Spaces for LGBTQIA+ Students. For 25 years I've worked to build schools where every student — and every adult — feels seen, safe, and able to thrive.

Belonging isn't a poster or a statement. It's what a young person feels the second they walk into your room, whether the adults will actually move when it counts, or just feel bad.

My work blends research, lived experience, and human-centered leadership to help educators close the gap between what they say they value and what their students actually experience. That gap is the whole game.

Whether you came to From Allyship to Action, Love is the Message, or you found this on your own — I'm glad you're here. The Check is where the work gets honest. Let's begin.
